Upload once. Reviewed fast. Printed on campus.
FastPrint is a secure printing platform: students and staff upload documents, admins approve them, and a local printer agent handles the rest—automatically.
How it works
From upload to paper in four steps—no USB sticks, no guessing whether your job ran.
- 1
Create an account & upload
Register, sign in, and upload your document from the dashboard. Files are stored securely in private cloud storage—not on the public web.
- 2
Admin review
An administrator reviews your request and approves or rejects it. This keeps printing controlled and prevents abuse.
- 3
Automatic printing
Once approved, the printer agent on the print station picks up the job, downloads the file via a short-lived signed URL, and sends it to the printer.
- 4
Done
The job is marked printed (or failed if something went wrong). You can track status from your dashboard.
Why FastPrint?
Secure by design
JWT authentication, hashed passwords, and role-based access. Users only see their own files.
Private file storage
Uploads live in a private Supabase bucket. Downloads use expiring signed URLs—never exposed keys.
Campus-ready workflow
Built for a trusted admin to gate print jobs before anything hits paper.
Roles on the platform
User
Upload files, view and delete your own jobs, and follow status from pending to printed.
Admin
Review all submissions, approve or reject print requests, and keep the queue under control.
Behind the scenes, a small printer agent runs on the machine connected to the physical printer. It polls for approved jobs and reports when printing finishes—so the web app and the hardware stay in sync.
